1958 Corvette Production and Performance
| Model Year Highlights |
- 1958 marked the first year of an extensive redesign for the Corvette which consisted of different body panels, dual headlights, non-functional hood louvers and two chrome spears on the trunk door.
- This wast the first year that seat belts were factory installed in the Corvette.
- In previous years, Corvette paint consisted of nitrocellulose lacquer with the exception of Inca Silver which came in acrylic lacquer. For 1958, all Corvette paints came in acrylic lacquer.
