Some 1986 or 1987 Corvettes with manual transmissions may experience inadequate retention of the clutch master cylinder push rod attachment.
If the condition exists, remove the plastic bushing from the master cylinder push rod and replace with the following service parts. (Refer to Figure 1):

A little click when I push on the clutch pedal revealed the retainer sliding on the bushing. I thought I might try this fix instead of replacing the stock bushing and retainer. This is the first time this has been an issue in over 30 years, though. Can these parts be readily found?
