Effective in Production on July 6th, 1959, a deal was added on the top front of the air cleaner assembly to indicate "Front" of the air cleaner and insure proper installation.  This was done so that the recesses in the underpan of the air cleaner, which are provided to allow clearance for the carburetor linkage, will be properly located.  If these recesses are not properly located, the carburetor rods can interfere with the underpan of the air cleaner and cause improper choke closing.  Early air cleaners without decals should be rotated at installation until the carburetor linkage drops into the recesses.
