Date:    January 6, 1966

TO:  ALL CHEVROLET DEALERS

Gentlemen:

Effective with warranty service performed on or after December 1, 1965, all failed defective 1965 model power window motors, including station wagon tailgate motors, are to be replaced at no charge to either original or subsequent owners, regardless of mileage, when the vehicle is within 24 months from date of delivery.

Window motors available under current part numbers are to be used for replacements.  When performing this service, the dealer should follow the motor venting procedure outlined on page 1 of the December, 1965, issue of Chevrolet Service News, using the vented screw #9708619, which is to be available early in December.

The dealer is to forward a GSD-17 claim covering the repair to the Regional Claims Department.  A GSD-740, Authorization for Adjustment, is not required.  The Regional Claims Department will process the claim in the normal manner.

The duration of the special policy program currently extends from December 1, 1965, through June 30, 1966.

If you have any questions regarding this special policy, please contact your Area Service Manager or the Zone Service Department.

Your very truly,

T.L. Schwarz
Zone Service Manager
