TO:  ALL CHEVROLET DEALERS

Extreme care must be used in selecting the proper solvent for removing road oil or tar from the surface of Lucity Acrylic Lacquer Finished. The majority of solvents available at the present time are injurious to this type of paint.

Engineering is revising the card which is placed in the glove compartment concerning the care of Lucity Acrylic Lacquer Finished to include the following information:

"To remove tar and road oil from Lucite Acrylic Lacquer Finish, it is important that a remover be used which is adapted to this purpose such as Dupont Dissolvo or equivalent."

"Any tar and road oil remover used should indicate on the label that it is harmless to Lucite Acrylic Lacquer."
