Lloyd English and Roger Mudd from the Chevrolet Dealer Buffalo Zone developed a a revolutionary method for Corvette body repairs that would lower the cost of fiberglass repairs and improve dealer profit for these types of repairs. Chevrolet eventually commercialized their Corvette repair process and hired Molded Fiber Glass Body Co. of Union City, Pennsylvania to manufacture low cost molds for the 1963 - 1966 Corvette body panels.
The molds were made available by Chevrolet in late 1965 under the part number of 1050542. On February 21, 1966, Chevrolet Central Office sent a letter to all Regional and Zone Service Managers outlining the details of these new molds. Below are those documents.
