It has been found that the rear compartment lid on some 1968 Corvettes interferes with the convertible top when the top is being raised or lowered. This interference is easily eliminated by filing approximately 1/8" off the existing hinge stops (right and left side). Removing 1/8" from the hinge stops, as shown in Figure 12, allows the rear compartment lid to raise farther thus eliminating the interference condition. The stops referred to are simply tabs that has been punched out of the hinge support members.
