TO:  ALL CHEVROLET DEALERS

CONDITION

Light squeak emanating from instrument cluster area.

POSSIBLE CAUSE

Lower tabs on cluster lens may rub against side of case locating holes.  To verify this source, apply light hand pressure to lens.

PRODUCTION CORRECTION

Tabs will be removed from lens effective May 15, 1980.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

  1. Remove five (5) lens to case attaching screws and remove lens.
  2. Grind off and file to a smooth surface the two (2) plastic locating tabs at bottom of lens, as illustrated on Page 2.  CAUTION :  The plastic lens is brittle and may crack if the tabs are snapped off rather than ground.
  3. Reinstall lens to case with five (5) screws.
