TO: ALL CHEVROLET DEALERS
Condition:
Some of the above vehicles, prior to VIN L5800913, may exhibit coolant leaks at the radiator hose attachments.
Cause:
This leak condition is caused by a torque loss of the radiator hose clamp (screw worm drive type), combined with the permanent set characteristics of the radiator hose material, in cold weather ambiences of twenty (20) degrees "F" and lower.
Correction:
If one or more of the radiator hoses are leaking, all the radiator hoses should be replaced with a new Service Kit, P/N 10157951. This kit includes six (6) new radiator hoses and twelve (12) new spring type hose clamps.
Parts are currently available from GMSPO.
Use the Service Manual procedures for the removal and replacement of radiator hoses.
