Condition |
Some customers may comment on a pulsation and/or vibration when they apply the brakes. Customer may also comment they hear a rattle noise from the wheel area. The noise may go away when the brakes are lightly applied. |
Cause |
This condition may be due to excessive lateral runout (LRO) or interation between the inner top hat section to the rotor ring. |
- Correction
Check the lateral runout:
- For front rotors and vehicles built prior to May 31, 2016, replace old two piece design (2) with new one piece design (1).
- For rear rotors and vehicles built prior to July 23, 2015, replace old two piece design (2) with new one piece design (1).
Important: The rotors MUST be replaced as a pair due to a design change.
Note: DO NOT replace all brake rotors unless you find the lateral runout out of spec for both the front and rear corners.
