Condition

Some customers may comment on that they hear a "pop" or "backfire" sound from the exhaust while performing a wide open throttle maneuver while in Sport or Track driving modes.

Cause

The exhaust sound heard during the wide open throttle maneuver is normal.

Correction

No repairs should be performed if there are no diagnostic codes, and the exhaust sound that the customer noticed goes away when the driver mode is selected to any other driver mode other than Sport or Track.

  1. I actually heard that today...went full throttle using paddles (2016 Corvette LT1). To me it sounded like a small back fire like you may here when you push the clutch in when changing gears on a manual gear box (may be a back pressure pop)...I KINDA LIKED IT
