Condition

Some customers may comment on one or more of the following conditions:

  • Engine overheats
  • Coolant leak under rear of vehicle

Cause

This condition may be caused by the water pump outlet pipe becoming disconnected from the water pump.

Correction

Important: Follow the complete coolant bleed process called out in SI. Performing just a vac-n-fill will leave air in the cooling system, potentially causing an overheat condition.

Replace the water pump outlet pipe and fully perform the complete bleed procedure after replacing the pipe.

Service Procedure

Refer to Water Pump Outlet Pipe Replacement - Engine Coolant Manifold to Engine Oil Cooler Adapter in SI.
