To All Dealers:

With reference to the above subject, we are illustrating below the source and markings on passenger and commercial wheels to aid in determining the manufacturing source on failed wheels.  Therefore, when submitting on L&MR on a wheel, please be sure to indicate the manufacturing source.

If you fail to list the source on a submitted claim, it will be returned for the additional information.

Also, please list this information on any GSD-541’s which may involve the reporting of a failed wheel.

1.  WARREN - On the inboard side of the wheel spider there is a V or U notch on one of the spider legs which is on Warren wheels only .

2.  NORRIS THERMADORE - A "N.T." is placed on the spider face 180° opposed to the GM65 stamp.  In addition to this Norris Thermadore is the only source which incorporates a flange on the wind clearance slots of the Passenger and Chevelle wheels.

3.  KELSEY HAYES - The only identification is the trademark stamp in the drop center area of the tire side of rim.
