Supersession Statement:
This PI was superseded to update Model Years. Please discard PIP5165D.
The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
If the oil is not properly check and is over filled, this will force oil out of the PCV into the induction system.
The second possible cause If the customer drives aggressively with low miles on the car it is possible to push oil through the PCV system.
Note: This only happens before the first oil change.
No internal repairs are required.
Properly check the oil level prior any repairs.
Please follow oil level check procedure found in the Owner’s Manual or SI.
If the oil level is found to be over filled, please make sure the service consultant reviews the oil check procedure with the owner.
Change the oil and filter.
Remove the air cleaner assembly.
Clean any oil out of the filter housing and duct.
Remove the MAF clean off any oil.
Make sure that there is no residual oil in the PCV lines.
Install a new air filter in the air box.
Reinstall the air box assembly.
