1997 - 2004 Corvette: Service Bulletin: Seat Back Twisting (Resynchronize Seat Back Recliner)

Bulletin No: 04.08.50.005

Subject: Seat Back Twisting (Resynchronize Seat Back Recliner)

Models: 1997-2004 Chevrolet Corvette

Condition
Some customers may comment on the driver’s or passenger’s seat back twisting.

Cause
This condition may be caused by the seat back recliner cables not releasing together.

Correction
You should resynchronize the seat back recliner using the following procedure.

To resynchronize the recliner actuator, perform the following steps below:
• Adjust the unoccupied seat to the full forward track position.

• Recline the seat to the full rearward position and release the recliner handle to lock the seat back.

• Release the unoccupied seat to the full upright position and release the recliner handle to lock the seat back. This will allow both the inboard and outboard recliner mechanism to release and re-synch in the full upright position.

Check the seat back recliner mechanism for resynchronization by applying pressure with your hand to the head rest.
