WHEN SERVICING THE AIR DUCT ASSEMBLY, CARE MUST BE TAKEN WHEN INSTALLING THE AIR DUCT TO THE THROTTLE BODY. IT MAY BE POSSIBLE TO FOLD THE LOWER LIP OF THE AIR DUCT AS IT IS SLID OVER THE THROTTLE BODY CAUSING UNMETERED, NONFILTERED AIR TO ENTER THE INTAKE MANIFOLD. THIS CONDITION COULD CAUSE AN MIL TO SET OR A CUSTOMER DRIVEABILITY CONCERN.

WHEN INSTALLING THE AIR DUCT ASSEMBLY TO THE THROTTLE BODY, LUBRICATE THE AIR DUCT WITH A SOAPY WATER SOLUTION.

**NOTICE:** DO NOT USE ANY TYPE OF SILICONE SOLUTIONS. THEY CAN CAUSE CONTAMINATION TO THE OXYGEN SENSORS.

AFTER THE AIR DUCT IS INSTALLED, VISUALLY INSPECT THE AIR DUCT TO BE SURE IT IS PROPERLY SEALED AROUND THE THROTTLE BODY.

General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
