1993 Corvette: Service Bulletin: Right Door Glass Binds, Insufficient Travel, Unable to Contact Weatherstrips

Subject: Right Door Glass Binds, Insufficient Travel, Unable to Contact Weatherstrips
Model and Year: 1993 Corvette
Source: Chevrolet Dealer Sevice Bulletin
Bulletin Number: 93-192-10, Section 10
Date: May 1993
Corporate Bulletin No:   331022
ASE No:   B1

CONDITION:

Right door glass that binds, won’t travel to full up position and presents difficulty in sealing to all weather strip surfaces on early build Corvettes with date codes of TA-3 on door glass as indicated in the illustration.

CAUSE:

Glass has incorrect contour.

CORRECTION:

If the door glass has the date code of TA-3 as shown in the illustration, REPLACE THE RIGHT DOOR GLASS ONLY using the procedure found in the body portion of the Service Manual.

NOTE:   Only glass with the date code of TA-3 has this condition.  Do not replace the left door glass or glass with other date codes for this condition.

NOTE:   Due to an in-plant modification, some vehicles with VIN’s between P5103330 and P5103622 may have right side glass that still does not track properly after glass replacement.  These vehicles may require replacement of the right door window regulator in addition to the door glass.

General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
