Extreme care must be used in selecting the proper solvent for removing road oil or tar from the surface of Lucite Acrylic Lacquer Finishes.  The majority of solvents available at the present time are injurious to this type of paint.

Engineering is revising the car which is placed in the glove compartment concerning the care of Lucite Acrylic Lacquer Finishes to include the following information:

"To remove tar and road oil from Lucite Acrylic Lacquer Finished, it is important that a remove be used which is adapted to this purpose such as Dupont Dissolvo or equivalent."

"Any tar and road oil remover used should indicate on the label that it is harmless to Lucite Acrylic Lacquer."
