It's sad when a firefighter protecting the community can't park their Corvette at the station without having this happen.

It’s amazing how some people can stoop so low.

A Memphis, Tennesee fire fighter’s 2008 Corvette was stripped of its tires and wheels while parked outside of a fire station on Elvis Presley Boulevard. The Memphis Fire Fighters Association posted a picture of the Corvette resting on cinder blocks to its Facebook page.

Firefighter James Martin told police that his Corvette, which was parked in the fire station parking lot,  was fine at 3:30 a.m. on Thursday, but three hours later, he found it resting on cinder blocks with the wheels and tires gone.

The police report estimates that the wheels and tires are valued at more than $3,000.  Unfortunately, the fire house doesn’t have video surveillance set up.

“How would you feel if it was your stuff? You worked hard to get something you want, then you come home and someone has taken it,” the victim, James Martin, said.

Memphis Police Department recommends that drivers buy wheel locks for their vehicles which requires a special “key” to be used to remove them from the car.

Hopefully, the thieves will be caught and Jones’ Corvette will be back on the road again!
