If you’ve never been to the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, Kentucky, you are missing out on one of the greatest treats this country has to offer.

It’s home to anything and everything Corvette related and has become the main repository for Corvette history going all the way back to 1953, when the very first Corvette rolled off the assembly line.

For 23 years, Wendell Strode has been the CEO and Executive Director of the NCM as well as its caretaker.

In May of 2018, Strode confirmed his retirement from the NCM effective July 1st of this year. That’s where Dr. Sean Preston steps in.

Introducing Dr. Sean Preston

Dr. Preston hails from Portland, Oregon where he served as president of a non-profit independent school for 12 years. He is not only an automotive enthusiast, but most of all, he’s a major Corvette enthusiast like the rest of us. A 1954 and 1972 Corvette reside in his car collection.

Dr. Preston is a career educator, having previously served as Founding Foreign Consulting President of the American School of Zhengzhou in Zhengzhou, Henan, China; Founding President of John Crosland School in Charlotte, NC; and Executive Director of Cypress Heights Academy in Baton Rouge, LA.

He has a BS in Social Science Education from the University of Georgia, a Master of Educational Leadership from Troy University, and earned his Doctorate in Educational and Non-Profit Leadership from Liberty University.

“The National Corvette Museum is a one-of-a-kind organization. There are thousands of museums across the globe, but none other dedicated to Corvette,” said Sean. “I’m head over heels in love with all things car-related, and specifically Corvette. It is an honor to have been named President and CEO.”

Although Strode will continue working with the NCM until January of 2020, Dr. Preston will take the reigns from Strode on July 1st.

Welcome aboard Dr. Preston!
