Every now and then, Chevrolet’s Corvette Team rolls out a new Corvette color that sort of takes your breath away when you first see it. The new Red Mist Metallic Tintcoat for the 2021 Corvette is one of those colors.
While it may not be as bold as the new Silver Flare Metallic now available, it isn’t any less elegant and stunning to see in person.
Like Silver Flare, the new Red Mist is a pearlescent color unlike other metallic colors available. The metallic flake embedded in the paint is very fine giving it the appearance of a luxurious satin sheet.
Difficult to photograph, the color is constantly shifting while the light slowly changes as you walk around the car. Under florescent lighting, the color takes on a stunning metallic blood-like hue while the lower parts of the car become more subdued with indirect lighting.
If you get a chance to see one in direct sunlight or showroom lighting, stand back a bit and check out the area on the side of the see-through engine cover if it’s a coupe. The body lines of a C8 coupe in Red Mist Metallic create a stunning satin sheet of redness that’s truly a feast for the eyes!
Thanks to our friends at MacMulkin Chevrolet in Nashua, New Hampshire, we were able to see the new 2021 Corvette in Red Mist Metallic with various interior color combinations.
If you’re thinking about ordering a 2021 Corvette in this color but unsure of what interior color combination to go with, hopefully these pics will help.

I just took delivery of my 2021 Red Mist 3LT Coupe. I have the Natural Dipped interior and that combination is outstanding. I don’t know how it will weather over time but right now it’s sensational. So many red, and shades of red show cars have the all light tan interiors, I figured it would look good on the C-8.
Congratulations George! That’s an awesome color combination! Enjoy your new Corvette!
Hi Rob – I just found your site, looking at red mist C8’s. My red mist C8 just came into the dealer and it is a non Z51 with the beige interior 2LT and the painted silver trident wheels. My question to you is I an seriously thing about the Z51 spoiler and whether I should go with the body color or black. BTW it is a HTC. I did order the black painted mirrors and have the Jake logo on the hood. I am thinking with the Jake logo, the black mirrors, the black piece where you open the car and a black spoiler it would work well. What are your thoughts. Ty!
Hi Larry,
Glad you found the Corvette Action Center. That’s kind of subjective. For me personally, it would depend on what color the nacelles will be. If the nacelles and roof are body colored, then I’d probably go with a body colored Z51 spoiler. If the nacelles and roof were carbon flash, I’d go for a carbon flash spoiler. That’s just me personally. Maybe these pictures will help?
