According to FOX5 out of Atlanta, Georgia, 19-year old Nicklous Render of Coweta, Georgia walked into Atlanta Luxury Motors of Newnan and asked to test drive a Velocity Yellow 2015 Corvette Stingray.
The salesman took a photo copy of Render’s license and the two proceeded out of the dealership in the Corvette with the owner riding shotgun in the passenger seat.
A little ways down the road, Render pulled the car over and told the salesman he’d like to see how it feels from riding in the passenger seat. As the salesman started to get out of the Corvette, Render took off before he was completely out of the car leaving him stranded on the side of the road.
The salesman quickly called 911 and reported the incident.
A Coweta County deputy later ran across Render in the Corvette about 15 miles away. As seen in the video below, Render pulled over, but refused to follow the deputy’s demands to exit the vehicle. Instead, he locked the doors and rolled up the windows just sitting there.
Render did eventually surrender and was booked into the Coweta County Jail after police realized he was a suspect in another test drive theft in Union City, also involving a Corvette.
