DOHA: The Ministry of Economy and Commerce (MEC), in collaboration with Chevrolet’s sole distributor in Qatar, Jaidah Automotive, has announced the recall of Chevrolet Corvette 2014 to modify airbags position to fit kids in case of not using seat belt.
This recall comes within the framework of the ongoing coordination and follow-up by the ministry to ascertain the dealers’ commitment to follow up defects and repair them to protect consumers’ rights.
The ministry has also affirmed that it will coordinate with Jaidah Automotive to follow up the necessary maintenance and repair processes and will communicate with clients to ensure the success of the recall campaign as well as the implementation of the procedures to fix defects.
Consumers have been urged to report any abuses or irregularities by communicating with the Department of Consumer Protection and Commercial Fraud Combat which will receive complaints, suggestions and inquiries through its communication channels.
Consumers can also submit their complaints through electronic systems installed in malls. These systems allow consumers to electronically communicate with the Department of Consumer Protection and Commercial Fraud Combat in a direct way.
