A couple’s 2014 Corvette Stingray was one of three vehicles stolen from a Chevrolet dealership in Delaware, Ohio last November
Delaware, Ohio – Last year a couple bought their dream car – a 2014 Corvette Stingray from a dealership in Maryland and brought it home to Ohio where it served as their weekend get-away from the toils and troubles of daily life.
Wynnedolyn Desmond told ABC 6/FOX 28 that shortly after they bought the car, they installed a new radio and brought it to Chesrown Chevrolet for additional work.
In November, they received a call from the Delaware Police Department informing them that their 2014 Corvette was one of three vehicles stolen during a break-in at Chesrown Chevolet.
At the time of the break-in, police were able to chase one of the suspects in a Chevy Tahoe which crashed soon after and the suspect got away on foot. The other vehicle – another Chevy Tahoe was recovered the following day in Columbus, Ohio. So far the Desmond’s Corvette has yet to be found.
Law enforcement officials believe the theft is one of many in a string of thefts targeting car dealers in the Columbus, Marysville, and London area.
Unfortunately for the Desmonds, they’re still making the high monthly payments on a Corvette they haven’t seen since that fateful night.
