Now that production-based 2019 Corvette ZR1s are landing in customer hands and dealer showrooms, General Motors is still continuing to run some last minute testing on the beast.
Recently, a Corvette Action Center reader spotted several ZR1s running down in Florida between Naples and Fort Lauderdale, otherwise known as “Alligator Alley”. We have heard rumor about a performance air intake system (RPO RVK) that may be made available soon as a Limited Production Option (LPO) for Z06 and ZR1 Corvettes. Could these ZR1s be wrapping up final testing on this system? Time will tell.
On YouTube earlier today, an interesting video popped up showing a Torch Red, 2019 Corvette ZR1, equipped with the ZTK Track Performance Package hustling around the Nürburgring Nordschleife track in quite a hurry!
What’s interesting to note is the small white decal on the rear bumper showing an outline of the Nürburgring race track, which we’ve seen on other cars attempting to make a record run on the famed track.
In January, a 2019 Corvette ZR1 ran a blistering 2:37.3 lap time at Virginia International Raceway, otherwise known as “America’s Nurburgring”, making it the fastest production car to ever lap that circuit.
While GM has not released any official Nürburgring times for the ZR1 yet, we wouldn’t be surprised to see a press release coming very soon!
In the mean time, turn up your speakers, and enjoy all that raw-sounding goodness in the video below!
