This week certainly has been busy with all of the 2019 Corvette ZR1 sightings all over the country!
Many people have spotted ZR1 pre-production models driving around Michigan, Bowling Green, Kentucky and Florida dressed in all different colors and options.
Corvette and Camaro Marketing Manager, Harlan Charles was spotting driving one around Bowling Green, while another one was spotted sitting in a grocery store lot, believed to be driven by Corvette Assembly Plant Manager, Kai Spande.
However, what’s most interesting is that someone captured a caravan of ZR1s driving by, and one of them appears to be a ZR1 convertible painted in Black Rose Metallic with Kalahari interior. Take a look below:
Below, is a 2017 Corvette Grand Sport convertible that we photographed at the National Corvette Museum’s Annual Bash in Bowling Green back in 2016:
A couple weeks ago, when GM released official pricing for the 2019 Corvette model year, we noticed that Black Rose Metallic was listed as an additional cost option. We reached out to Harlan Charles about this and we were told that it was a mistake, and that Black Rose Metallic was not coming back for the 2019 MY. Shortly after that, GM updated the pricing in their Global Connect system, and it was removed from the options list.
If you watch the video closely, you’ll notice it’s actually Long Beach Red Metallic and not Black Rose. The quality of the video isn’t that good and the lighting is off. Depending on the quality of the lighting, Long Beach Red and Black Rose can look very similar.
For now, enjoy seeing these beasts in action below!
