2021 Corvette Production Halted for Second Consecutive Week

Production of the 2021 Corvette remains at a standstill for the second week in a row due to parts shortage

Updated: 5-28-2021 at 6:00 AM

Yesterday, the Corvette Action Center was able to confirm with Chevrolet that due to the continued parts shortage, the Bowling Green Corvette Assembly Plant will remain closed through next week.

Below is the official statement we received from Chevrolet:

Due to a temporary parts supply issue, Bowling Green Assembly will not run production the week of May 31. Our supply chain, manufacturing and engineering teams are working closely with our supply base to mitigate any further impact on production, and we expect the plant to resume normal operations on Monday, June 7.

According to a report from the Bowling Green Daily News, the shutdown is due to a delay in getting parts for the Corvette’s dual clutch transmission built by Tremec.

As always, we’ll continue to provide updates as they become available to us.
