Late on Thursday, General Motors announced that 2023 Corvette production will come to a halt next week because of a temporary parts shortage.
According to GM spokesperson, David Barnas:
“Our supply chain, manufacturing and engineering teams are working closely with our supply base to mitigate any further impact on production… Short-term supply chain disruptions continue to occur, which has led us to make this scheduling adjustment.”
Production of the 2022 Corvette ran relatively unchecked with stoppages as compared to the 2020 and 2021 model years. This is the first production stoppage for the 2023 model year.
While Barnas did not go into detail as to what parts were in short supply, production is expected to resume on September 6th after Labor Day.
