60th Anniversary Cunningham C8 Corvette Debuts at Amelia Island
Car #33 of 60 Part of a Sweepstakes Benefitting the Chip Miller Amyloidosis Foundation
Carlisle Events Press Release
CARLISLE, PA – The Cunningham Corvette (all three of them) and their history carry an enormous amount of prestige within the Corvette community, as well as those who support endurance racing. The #3 Briggs Cunningham entry stands head and shoulders above all others, having won its class in the 1960 24 Hours of Le Mans. Its story was well chronicled in the 2011 Michael Brown Documentary, ‘The Quest.” Fast forward 60 years and the Chip Miller Amyloidosis Foundation, in conjunction with Cunningham Automotive, are proud to debut at northeast Florida’s Amelia Island Concours d’ Elegance, a modern-day marvel that will no doubt be the centerpiece of car collections for decades to come.
Officially recognized as a Cunningham 60th Anniversary C8 Corvette, just 60 are being hand built. As noted in the headline, #33 has been ear-marked for the Chip Miller Amyloidosis Foundation as a sweepstakes car and will make its debut May 20-23 at the Ritz Carlton in Amelia Island, less than one hour north of downtown Jacksonville.
This car doesn’t just show…it CAN GO! Powered by a 600 HP Lingenfelter Performance engine, it comes complete with a high flow carbon fiber performance designed intake manifold, high flow Corsa headers, an exhaust and airbox tuned by Lingenfelter, HRE forged aluminum wheels, Michelin tires, a Peter Stevens designed aero kit and Cunningham/MOV’IT performance brakes and more. Oh…and courtesy of ACME trading company, there’s a commemorative model too.
Not only will the car be on display with sweepstakes entries available to win it on October 1, it’ll be flanked by CMAF President Lance Miller and an information table on the foundation itself.
“I’m very excited to see this car in person for the first time,” noted Miller, CMAF president. “I am confident that it will turn heads as it prominently sits on display surrounded by blue-blood brands like Rolls Royce, Bugatti, Ferrari, Cord and more,” continued Miller. “When you come to the foundation table, I look forward to talking with you about amyloidosis, the horrible disease that took my best friend and dad, Chip Miller, from us in 2004. I am also looking forward to your support by way of this sweepstakes. Entries range from 12 tickets for $25 to 2,800 tickets for $2,500 and many more options in between.”
This sweepstakes is just one of many great ways you can support the CMAF. There are events planned from now through August designed to raise awareness and money for amyloidosis. These events include Corvettes for Chip, June 25-26 in Carlisle, Pennsylvania and a day of surfing, sliding and culinary excellence on July 30 in Ocean City, New Jersey. There’s also a charity dinner planned for August 28 in Carlisle as part of the annual Corvettes at Carlisle car show.
Enter today and not only secure a chance to WIN A C8, but to also help the CMAF raise funds and awareness! As an ADDED BONUS, 30% MORE tickets are available when using the PROMO CODE Amelia!
