On Friday afternoon, the first retail 2020 Corvette convertible crossed the auction block at Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale raising $400,000 for the United Way

Yesterday afternoon, the hammer fell at $400,000 for the first 2020 Corvette convertible built for retail sale at the Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale auction with all proceeds to benefit the United Way of Southeastern Michigan.

Built on August 6th, 2020, the Black Z51 convertible was built with the top of the line 3LT trim package and a beautiful black and Adrenaline Red interior with Torch Red seat belts.

Additional options include visible carbon fiber ground effects, carbon flash badge package, bright red painted brake calipers behind carbon flash painted wheels, and visible carbon fiber grille insert (which is now no longer available to order from GM).  Of particular note – two other options appear on this car:  RPO R7N – SHOW VEHICLE ID and RPO R6X – CUSTOM INTERIOR TRIM AND SEAT COMBINATION OVERRIDE.

The car was delivered to GM’s Global Logistic Service center in Clawson, Michigan with just 6 miles on the odometer.

According to the 2020 Corvette Production Numbers that we have, 220 convertibles were built with the Interior Color Override option, 339 convertibles were built in Black and only 17 convertible were built with the Black and Adrenaline Red leather interior (RPO HUU).

Given the options listed on this Corvette, it’s safe to assume that this could very well be an extremely rare Corvette, if not the only one built with these options for the 2020 model year.

From Barrett-Jackson’s listing:

The winning bidder will receive the first retail production of the all-new 2020 mid-engine C8 Corvette convertible. This new Corvette delivers 495hp and 470 ft/lbs of torque, making it the most powerful production Stingray ever. This Corvette is powered by the all-new 6.2-liter LT2 V8 engine, a no-compromises powerhouse that’s been architecturally transformed to sit lower for improved handling. The vehicle will include the 3LT package, black exterior, black seats with red trim, red seat belts, GT2 seats, 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, rear spoiler, Performance Data Recorder and the Z51 package. **100% OF HAMMER PRICE TO BENEFIT UNITED WAY FOR SOUTHEASTERN MICHIGAN**
