Early this morning GM released constraints to dealers showing that Sebring Orange Metallic and Zeus Bronze Metallic are no longer available for 2021 Corvette orders
As expected, GM has killed RPO G26 Sebring Orange Metallic and GUI Zeus Bronze Metallic making it impossible for dealers to submit any further orders for the 2021 Corvette with those colors.
Starting today, dealers will be placing orders for the 2021 Corvette with allocation, but customers that were hoping to get their hands on one with either of those colors will have to choose a different color.
Along with those colors, LPO RZ9 – Visible Carbon Fiber Grille Insert is also on national constraint. The two colors and the grille insert are the only options on national constraint for this order cycle.
New Colors Coming
Right now, we believe that three new colors will appear either late in 2021 production or by the start of 2022 Corvette production. While many people believe the rumors of what those colors are – based upon the website of a Chevrolet dealer in the Czech Republic, nothing has been confirmed to date by GM.
One of those colors is Caffeine Brown Metallic (RPO G48). It’s the opinion of this author that another metallic brown color will not appear on the C8 Corvette again given the extremely low popularity for Zeus Bronze Metallic – I could be wrong.
I do however, think that Amplify Orange Tintcoat (RPO GC5) does stand a very good chance of being the replacement for Sebring Orange Metallic. That color will appear on the 2022 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing (Blaze Orange Metallic) as well as the 2022 Camaro (Vivid Orange Metallic).
We have seen restricted pictures of the 2022 Camaro in Vivid Orange Metallic and the color is amazing. Below is a GM photo of the 2022 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing in (RPO GC5) Blaze Orange Metallic:
What happens to orders already in the system?
Customer orders that include Sebring Orange Metallic, Zeus Bronze Metallic, or the carbon fiber grill insert and have already been placed with allocation, will be built.
As for customer orders that are set to be placed with allocation and include those options – dealers will have to reach out to those customers and select a different color to choose from.
