January Production Updates for the 2022 and 2023 Corvette

Early this morning Chevrolet dealers received notice of the January Consensus Cycle 1 starting this week as well as the consensus deck outlining production highlights for the 2022 Corvette as well as highlights for the start of the 2023 model year.

As per the document:

  • BGA production halted December 13th – 21st for repairs due to storm damage
  • Back to full production (2 shifts) since 12/22
  • Customer Order Tracking Program launched 12/6
    • Highly personalized 5-touch email cadence
    • 146 emails sent as of 12/17
    • 512 additional enrollments as of 12/17

Constraints

0% constraint on RPO ZZ3: Engine Appearance & Lighting Package

According to the document, the supplier that manufacturers the carbon fiber components for this package is discontinuing all carbon fiber operations effective January 31st.

As a result, dealers will be notifying customers who selected this option, that it will need to be removed from their orders prior to placing with allocation.

2023 Model Year Key Dates (Tentative):

  • Dealer order guide available: March 21st
  • Ordering available through OWB & Configurator: March 24th
  • First DOSP: March 31st
  • ADS Allocation continues (no separate Z06 allocation group)

It’s our understanding that the “First DOSP” date is when dealers will receive their first round of 2023 Corvette allocation numbers.

We were under the impression that 2022 Corvette production would end around the first or second week of May, however the March 31st date seems a little early for dealers to be receiving their first round of allocation for the 2023 model year.

However, according to the consensus notes, the 2022 model year build-out date is still yet to be determined:

We’ll continue to post updates in the coming weeks as they become available to us.
