Esquire Magazine made a major booboo when they published an article online about the 2020 C8 Corvette ahead of the official unveiling.

The article was pulled off line quickly when the mistake was found, but not before we could grab the photos and a few details.

The 2020 C8 Corvette Stingray will come with 495 hp 470 lb-ft of torque from the naturally aspirated LT2 V8 engine. Equipped with the Z51 performance package which will include a slightly stiffer suspension and larger brakes, the 2020 Corvette will hit 60 mph in under 3 seconds.

Considering that the 2019 Corvette ZR1 with 755 HP will hit 60 MPH in 2.8 seconds, that’s a pretty good indication that the the base curb weight of the C8 Corvette will be lower than the current 2019 C7 Corvette.

Much to our sadness and as we predicted, a manual transmission is NOT an option.

Additional features of the C8 Corvette will include a removable roof panel as in previous generations as well as two storage compartments consisting of a small area in the front for a couple of small bags, and a larger area in the rear behind the engine which should fit two bags of golf clubs.

The color palette is extended from 10 colors to 12 colors including a new Rapid Blue, Zeus Bronze, and Accelerate Yellow color.

According to Esquire magazine, starting price is set at around $70,000. Considering that this new generation Corvette could hit 60 mph in under 3 seconds, given the starting MSRP of $70,000, this could be the performance bargain of the century!

More to come soon as information is released from GM right after the unveiling in a few minutes. Stay tuned!
