When I first heard that Chevrolet was going to bring back a metallic brown color on a Corvette, I cringed. I remember some of the brown colors used on cars back in the sixties and seventies and I always hated them. This is definitely not the case with the 2020 Corvette’s Zeus Bronze Metallic!
New for the C8 Corvette, RPO GUI – Zeus Bronze Metallic is actually identical to the Bronze Sand Metallic color introduced on the 2018 Cadillac ATS-V and CTS-V models.
The first chance I had to see the color in person was on a Captured Test Fleet 2020 Corvette at Corvettes at Carlisle last year. Under cloudy skies, the color was…underwhelming to say the least, but that all changed as soon as the sun came out.
Zeus Bronze Metallic is definitely a sun-loving color! The color literally pops due to the high amount of metallic flake in the paint giving the entire 2020 Corvette a brilliant wet look. As you walk around the car and the light hits the sharp lines and curves of the C8’s body, the color changes drastically.
Thanks to our friends at MacMulkin Chevrolet of Nashua, New Hampshire, we have some fantastic photos of a customer’s 2020 Corvette in Zeus Bronze Metallic that just arrived from the factory. The photos were taken under both showroom lighting as well as direct sunlight outside so you can see the difference.
