Corvettes at Carlisle Welcomes a Pair of Race Reunion Displays in 2014

The Displays Will Leave Guests with a Need for Speed and Wanting Even More

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRLog (Press Release) – May 14, 2014 – CARLISLE, Pa. — Corvettes at Carlisle has moved into its early 30s as an event, having started in 1982, and like a fine wine, the event keeps getting better with age. This year’s show, August 22-24 at the Carlisle PA Fairgrounds not only celebrates the long and storied history of the Corvette as a street car, it highlights the power and success of the Corvette on the race track.

Via two special race-themed displays, car lovers from around the world can see a vast array of Corvette race cars. One display includes cars that were part of the Corvette Challenge series, while the other is designed specifically for all types of Corvette race cars, regardless of competition year.

In 1988 and 1989 General Motors and John Powell created the Corvette Challenge Series. Corvettes at Carlisle is proud to host the 25-year reunion for Corvette Challenge Cars and encourage car owners of these special rides to get involved today!  Each owner who is part of the display earns a nice memento of the event plus will snag a prime parking spot on the Fun Field.  Conversely, guests who want to enjoy the Challenge display can walk up close and see in person cars that dominated the track!

The other display, the one for general Corvette race cars, will highlight Corvette Racing as a whole.  You’ll see the famed #1 Purple People Eater Corvette, a yellow #3 that was ultimately the last car that Dale Earnhardt ever finished a race in, the #3 Cunningham Corvette that won its class at Le Mans in 1960 and many more.  In addition to the cars, many famed drivers, pit-crew members and race team owners will be at Carlisle throughout the weekend.

Both displays are by invitation only and in addition, there is a special dinner planned for Friday night of event weekend.  Join Lance Miller, Corvettes at Carlisle enthusiasts and car owners specific to these displays 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on August 22 for a Racers Retreat Dinner and gathering.  Enjoy time with others who share your passion for racing, plus meet special guests and share in great conversation while you dine, surrounded by a lot of Corvettes.  It’s all made possible by Corvette Repair, Inc.  The deadline for dinner registration is Friday, August 8 at 11:59 p.m.

Complete event details including a link to register are available online at www.CarlisleEvents.com.  Also online are registration details for Corvettes at Carlisle itself.  The cars and excitement come to Carlisle annually and all that’s missing is you!
