National Corvette Museum Announces Major Expansion

National Corvette Museum Announces $12,000,000 expansion to further educational activities for children and members and to insure a permanent home for all things Corvette

Just a short time ago at the National Corvette Museum’s annual Bash, Development Manager Bobbie Jo Lee announced that the NCM has been planning a major expansion to further expand the museums displays and educational activities for the public.

Thanks to the generosity of a several NCM members, approximately $1,615,000 has currently been raised toward a projected $12,000,000 goal.

Below is the information just released on the National Corvette Museum’s website:

Preparing for the Next Generation

As the National Corvette Museum continues to make necessary improvements to maintain the quality guests have come to expect from our world class establishment, we are enthusiastically progressing toward a 2 story-30,000 square foot addition to the Museum!

We are expanding with your help to prepare for the Next Generation!

Our state–of–the–art campus addition plans include:

• Specialty Exhibit Spaces and Rotating Displays
• Lifetime Members Lounge
• Open Theater Space
• Sensory Calming Room for Guests with Unique Needs
• Kids Zone Education Center
• Rooftop Members Lounge

We look forward to what the future holds for the Museum as we continue to build on every aspect of what we were created for – a Museum focused on educating, preserving, and exhibiting the stories of America’s Sports Car for all generations to enjoy.

We are working with Sewell and Sewell Architects on this project, as we did for our first expansion in 2009. The Museum team and architects will be working to bring this expansion to life as funding progresses for the project.

With the new gallery spaces afforded by this expansion, we will feature new exhibits housing more unique artifacts from Corvette’s rich history. The all new Lifetime Members Lounge will offer a quiet space to call yours where you can relax during visits to the Museum.

Your past generosity and continuing support are the links in our chain of creating new avenues to improve the Museum. Naming opportunities for various areas of the expansion are available and you can make a pledge with various giving timelines.

Funds donated to the expansion will be placed into a restricted account designated only to the Building Expansion Campaign.

We would love to talk with you and always enjoy hearing your thoughts.

Feel free to contact Bobbie Jo Lee – Development Manager at: 270-467-8833  or bobbiejo@corvettemuseum.org to discuss ideas, ways you can help or if you wish to choose a naming opportunity to mark your support.

This is your Museum and we gratefully thank you for all you have done and for joining us in this journey!
