03-25-2022:  Via email:  "I purchased the 1953 Corvette #187 Nov. 20, 1982 from Mike Enright. He said it had not been driven since 1974. The vehicle was transported from my home in Macedonia, OH to Columbus in July, 1987 where restoration work commenced at Distinctive Corvettes Inc., for about two years. We discovered three different layers of paint on the body and inferior patch work on the front clip which we decided should be replaced for strength and stability. The whole interior had been painted black, and so all was re-painted. There were early but not original whitewalls 2 1/2", and all original hubcaps. A new soft top was installed on the original frame. The original hardtop was not repainted, but left in very good working condition. Seats were recovered with new springs and carpeting as well as new door panels. Mats were too deteriorated to retain. The engine ran off a 12-volt rather than 6-volt system when purchased, with 63,000 miles. I sold the car Sept. 22, 1989. I have the buyer's name, but would probably need his permission to mention it. I believe the 'Vette was transported to Little Rock, AR. I hated to let it go, but I was too anxious to drive it after having it in a couple parades, etc., for fear it would be damaged or stolen after all the investment and care. And keeping it in storage did not do it justice. But I can always brag that I owned #187 off the line. Sincerely - Marti Worth (different name in 1982.)

11-23-2006:  Privately owned by Russell Cole of Deerfield, IL with 69,000 miles on the odometer. Via e-mail from Russell Cole:  "Attended the Chevy Vette Fest here in Chicago and won a gold spinner. That makes 12 major Golds for this car in 5 years which now includes a Triple Crown and Duntov".

Previous Owner:  Frank O. Enright

10-05-2006:  Via e-mail: "Wayne Hartye lives in Pompton Lakes, New Jersey. He has owned #187 for over 20 years. He was pretty much "broken up" after letting it go. It was like losing a child to him. I purchased it through Corvette Mike in Anaheim. I traded my '57 Corvette for this car. Wayne Hartye had the car restored in the late 90's in conjunction with advice through GM on the paint ect. It is one of the only triple crown winners to exist. I have the judging sheets from one of the 2003 NCRS shows."

"Car scored a 96%. The car has won the Duntov award I believe in 2000. The car is restored to the highest standard. The car has original battery and spark plugs. This car has many things other '53s don't have. I have contacted Ron Whittaker, NCRS judge for '53's to come out and inspect the car. More on that as it transpires."

01-21-2004:  Owner information listed on page 7 of the NCRS publication, "The Corvette Restorer, vol. 30, number 3, Winter 2004." Owner was listed as Wayne Hartye of Pompton Lakes, NJ.
