1972 Corvette ZR1 from the Chuck Ungurean collection - auctioned off at the Mecum Auto Auction in Kissimmee, FL, January 24 - 29. From the listing:
Offered from 1970 to 1972, the ZR1 was the rarest small block Corvette ever built, with just 20 produced in 1972. The ZR1 was in the grand tradition of race-ready factory Corvette option packages, comprising the solid-lifter LT1 350/255 HP engine, heavy duty close-ratio 4-speed, F41 heavy duty suspension, J50/J56 heavy duty power brakes, transistor ignition and a special aluminum radiator. This Elkhart Green / Black leather coupe, one of 9 1972 examples still in existence, is an outstanding piece and is documented with the tank sticker and Protect-O-Plate.
