- 04-24-2020: Listed for sale on Bring a Trailer by Jeffery P. of Gardnerville, NV with 59,000 miles on the odometer and one previous owner listed. From the listing:
"I purchased this car from a close personal friend who had a significant car collection with significant cars in which he vintaged raced for 30 years and he always had a Corvette as a daily driver from 1958 to present day. He always bought them new and he always put lots of miles on them. He purchased a new model each time the generations changed and always received the cars very early from GM including his new C-8. This ZR-1 was no exception. He used this ZR-1 as a daily driver from delivery until selling to me in 2016. He performed all oil changes at 3,000 miles, performed all the recommended services with his in house shop mechanics and himself personally, just as I have. The car was so gently driven that the carbon ceramic brake pads were at 95% when I purchased the car from him with approximately 45,000 miles. The average fuel mileage reading was 26 mpg! Maturely driven is an understatement. Once I purchased the car, I was going to use it as a track day car and installed the rollbar. I had intentions of installing 5 point harnesses but never did. I only tracked the car one time at Thunderhill in CA, 2 Shift Sector half mile events in Coalinga, CA and took on several road trips. I just couldn't take such a clean ZR-1 example and turn it into a track car so that is the "racing history" if you will. It's a great car, fun to drive, gets a lot of attention wherever you go...still. I ran the car completely stock the first time at Shift Sector where it reached just shy of 150 miles per hour. We installed a few performance mods like headers, removed the cats and installed the Borla mufflers, pulleys and a dyno tune by Street to Sand in Reno Nevada who is known for his work on high performance Corvettes. The 2nd time at Shift Sector the car went 159 mph in the half mile. The Borlas are really loud so we put the stock mufflers back on for road trips, however I will include the Borlas with the sale along with the stock pulleys and exhaust system. The rear tires have approximately 45-50% left on the rears, and approximately 60% on the fronts, the brake pads have approximately 70% life left. There is typical light sand damage to the windshield as you would expect from a car with almost 60,000 miles. The same applies with the clear protective film, The cargo netting and privacy curtain will be included in the sale too. Corvette Magazine contacted the previous owner to do a side by side comparison with the ZR-1 and the then new 2015 ZO6. Since the previous owner is so well known in the Corvette world, they knew he had both cars on hand.
