- 05-11-2014: Listed for sale by Cooper Corvettes of Triangle, VA with 32,000 miles on the odometer and one previous owner listed. From the listing: "The LS9 was a reworked and supercharged version of the LS3 that made an astounding 638hp, and created an internet phenomena when it broke the lap record for a factory-built Corvette at the Nurburgring in 2012. You can see that exact car on display at the National Corvette Museum. It looks like this: [http://nurburgringlaptimes.com/lap-times/lap-times-top-100/]. Which, coincidentally, looks exactly like ours. But this is no coincidence. Ours was the backup car for the Nurburgring test. That's right...and it has never been titled! Optioned by GM to be an exact replica of the record-breaking original, this ZR1 was provided to a Bowling Green employee shortly after the history-making lap was completed. He kept it in near-perfect condition, bringing it to shows across the nation for last few years. When he decided to sell it, a friend of ours (another dealer, again never titling it) jumped at the opportunity, realizing of course, the history that this car represents. He promptly had it upgraded by RKT56 in Maryland with the following durability/longevity items: Lingenfelter HX 710hp kit (LPE HX710), Intercooler Brick Modification, Full intake/SC snout porting/polishing, Oil Catch-Can installed, Custom, highly-conservative dyno-tested tune (615 rwhp)."
- 12-09-2012: Privately Owned by Kyle Lemish of Harrisonburg, VA with 25,630 miles on the odometer and no previous owners listed. From Kyle: "It started at Corvettes at Carlisle in August of 2011. In the GM tent was a VY ZR1 that was equiped EXACTLY like I would order one. I met the "GM EXEC" that had brought the car to the show for the GM tent......Dave Tatman....The Bowling Green plant manager. We talked for a good while about my drag racing with the ZR1 our love for yellow cars...Right down to the fact that we both were in the minority but we both like them with body color headlights better than black. In our chat I told him that I was a car dealer but not a Chevy dealer and would not be able to purchase that car on GM Smart Auction when he was done with it but I wanted the VIN number because I was going to try to find it and buy it when he was done with it. We wrote the VIN on his business card, and I went on my way for the rest of the weekend at Carlisle, even though as I walked the fairgrounds I kept stopping by the GM tent to visit that car!
Fast forward to April of 2012, I was in the mood for a change so I sold my VY ZR1 and had couple off brand toys to play with (Lamborghini Gallardo, and a 1500 Horsepower Underground Racing Twin Turbo Viper)
Forward to Sept of 2012 I see the car for sale at EVS Chevrolet in WI, I called about it but still had the Viper and Lambo, But the more I kept thinking about that car the more I wanted it. I tried to trade one or both into them for it, but they just didn't do exotics and of course didnt understand the Viper.
Here we are in Nov and I moved both my toys and was ready to start trying to buy the car. (Fortunately they still had it) The only history they knew was it was a "GM EXEC CAR" But I knew who the EXEC was!
Before I finalized the deal I called Dave Tatman (Plant Manager) turns out the car has even better history other than just him driving it.

3. COPO car (Central office purchase order)
4. 1 of 2 Identically optioned cars for 2012 VY with PDE package yellow calipers and yellow stitching with body color headlights (The other one is the car that went to the RING)
5. 2 sets of custom decals made by GM to commemorate the RING record run were made and Installed on this car and the one that went to the RING! And still owned by GM"
