The future of the Corvette C8.R racing program is now in question after IMSA announced that the GTD Pro Class would replace GTLM in 2022.

With the success and points captured this season, the Corvette Racing team captured the GT Le Mans Manufacturers title in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship today after the Corvette C8.R started the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring.
This coming Saturday, the Corvette Racing Team hits the track once again at the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring hoping to clinch the GTLM Manufacturers’ Championship and close the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season on a high note.
Corvette Racing’s Antonio Garcia and Jordan Taylor held a zoom meeting with members of the media to share their thoughts about clinching the GT Le Mans (GTLM) Drivers title in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.
Jordan Taylor and Antonio Garcia finished second in Sunday’s race at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, but the No. 4 Chevrolet Corvette C8.R has been stripped of its podium finish in Sunday’s Monterey Sports Car Championship due to a post-race technical infraction.
So far the new Corvette C8.R has proven to be a formidable opponent on the race track and this weekend, the Corvette Racing team hopes to continue their winning ways this Sunday at the WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca.
