[VIDEO] Man Suffering From CHF Takes the Ride of a Lifetime in his 2011 Corvette

FALL RIVER, Mass.  — Joe Correira, 68 of Fall River, Mass., took the ride of a lifetime Monday when he got the chanced to take his 2011 Corvette Grand Sport Convertible for a spin around the Seekonk Speedway.

Joe was in hospice care after suffering from congestive heart failure and thought he was heading home after he was released yesterday.  Instead, he was brought to the Seekonk Speedway where friends and family had gathered to meet him there.

As he pulled up, the crowd began to cheer and there sitting in the parking lot was his prized 2011 Corvette Grand Sport waiting for him.  Joe has been collecting cars for years and his Corvette has just under 7,000 miles on the clock.

“I enjoyed every moment of it,” Correira recalled the ride, which was made possible by his daughter, several local businesses, and the Speedway.

Over the past seven years, Correira lost his wife and was diagnosed with heart disease.

“Sixty years, I didn’t even go to the hospital or the doctors. After I lost her, everything fell apart on me,” he said.
