Model Year Highlights
- New for this year was a "Stingray" script added to the front fenders just behind the wheels.
- Although much of the chassis and mechanical components carried over from the 1967, the 1969 body style was completely redesigned.
- The door opening mechanism was simplified by eliminating the separate finger push button.
- Side mounted exhaust and special side louver trim became options this year.
- The steering wheel diameter was reduced from 16 inches to 15 inches.
- 1969 marked the first year for a steering column-mounted ignition switch, headlight washers, 8-inch wheels and 350ci engines.
